I have word 97 and I can't center names on labels. I
imported data from an excel worksheet through mail merge
and now have a very long document. I am able to center
the names horizontally, but not vertically. I have gone
to page setup, layout, and vertically aligned the names.
However, I continue to receive an error messages stating
that my margins are not set properly. It then give me the
option to "Fix" or "Ignore" the problem. I choose to fix
the problem but nothing is fixed; the names are still NOT
centered vertically.
What should I do??

Generally speaking in Word 97 and above the default vertical alignment for
labels is "Centered." The problem is that if you start a mail merge from the
Labels dialog, you get extra empty paragraphs in the labels. You need to
deal with these *before* merging the data.
