I regularly download research materials that come in a predefined
template.  I have designed a template that creates an easier to read
formet.  (Bifocal age is here).

How do I apply my EZ2Read Template to the existing document, without
resorting to a cut & paste job?

You don't.

Things like styles you can copy from one (document) or template to the
other (via the Organizer), but section-properties (like paper size and
margins, headers and footers, page numbering scheems, etc.) don't travel
like that.
