Formatting problem in Word

Whenever and entire line is selected (highlighted), and
then a format change is selected (bold, underline,
italics), then entire document is bolded, underlined, or
italicized). If you only select a portion of the line,
then only that portion is affected.  Does anyone have an
answer to this problem?  I have tried several things,
including deleting the templates, reinstalling, and
changing some options.

Thanks,
TM

Everyone in my department experienced this exact problem.
We discovered that if you click on "undo" one time, it
will remove the underlining, bold, etc. from the rest of
the document but it will maintain the formatting you
wanted for the one line.  Can't explain it, but it works,
so that's what we do for now until we can figure out a
better way.  Good luck.
