Hi Cindy,
In writing this, I am assuming you know how to change the justification of a
paragraph using Format => Paragraph.
You can set right-justification as a general default by changing normal.dot.
I don't recommend doing this because you can get some pretty messed up
documents (created by others) if you open them on your system.
I recommend that you create a template which will contain the settings you
want and use that template as the basis for new documents.
This is a paragraph formatting setting in your styles. The two styles used
most commonly for regular typing are "normal" and "body text." If you modify
these styles in your custom template, that will probably handle the bulk of
your problem.
To make this apply to everything typed in a document based on a template
(which I don't think you want to do) you would similarly change every style
in Word.
If you want to modify them in normal.dot, you can. Create a new blank
document by clicking on the page icon on your standard toolbar. See what
style is being used (in your formatting toolbar). Format => Style...
Modify the style the way you want and check the box for "Add to template."
OK your way back to your document and then close Word. When asked if you
want to save changes made to the global template, Normal.dot, answer "Yes."
Again, I don't recommend making this change to normal.dot, but it is your
computer. If you change all of your styles in normal.dot to be
right-justified, I predict you'll be back here soon asking how to undo that.
