I am currently trying to figure out a way to combine several
documents, each of which has footnotes at the end, into one large
document.  The trick is I would like to keep the footnotes at the end
of each section--but I cannot figure out a way to do this.  Can anyone
help?
Thanks.

Well, if they're at the end, they're not footnotes; they're endnotes. Go to
Insert | Reference | Footnote and set the endnotes to appear at the end of
the section instead of the end of the document.
