problems when I justify document

When I justify a Word 2000 document, the extra spacing is
within the words, not between words. How can I fix this?

Check to see if you have the most recent printer driver installed.

You may prefer the justification using tools > options > compatibility >
check the box for 'Do full justification like Word Perfect 6 '
