I have a document over 100 pages. I have inserted
numbered bullets but can not get the numbers to restart
from 1 for the whole document.
I now have over 500 numbered bullets - any ideas.

Excellent resource thanks. I'd like to create a "higher level style" that
will automatically reset my numbering, my document has natural divisions
within it that would work extremely well (I try to be consistent when I
write).

How do I go about doing that? How do I set a particular style (Heading 3) to
do reset the numbering? I've tried basing the style on another and found
that doesn't do it. I've been digging around and though many say it's
possible, I can't find explicit instructions.

Thanks in advance, as always.

As is the way of things, I found additional information after posting.

Thanks again, all- this is a wonderful resource.

And after a few hours...
I didn't "get" that one has to configure Outline Numbering ON for my default
style (*or another style*), configure numbering to NOT show anything for the
paragraph level I'm working in, and I simply indent to get the numbers in a
list. It sounded too complicated and simple all at the same time. Took a
while to get it right, but now, I'm numbered away.

Perhaps they'll work on it and get it right. MS is ALMOST up to where they
were with OS/2...

:-)
