Here's what I'm sure is a super basic question: In Word 2000, why are the
comments highlighted in the text (e.g., "vc1") when viewed on one computer
but not highlighted when viewed on another computer? I have checked out
Tools, Options, View but can't find a setting for this. I have also checked
the definition for the comment style.

TIA,
Vivian Carroll

You need to check the option to show "ScreenTips" on the
View tab of the Tools>Options dialog box.
