Footer margins question

In using Word 2002, I've changed my footer margin to .2 in
the page set up option under Headers/Footers but the table
in the footer is not moving any closer to the edge of the
paper.  I checked the regular Page Set Up margin (not in
Header/Footer) also and it is set at .2 also.
Any ideas as to how I can fix this?
Thanks in advance,
Regina

To begin with, you need to increase the Bottom margin; you should not have
the bottom and footer margin the same. The reason your table is not at 0.2"
is that any table in Word must be followed by an ordinary text paragraph.
Display nonprinting characters (press Ctrl+* or click the Show/Hide ¶
button), and you will see this empty paragraph represented by ¶. You cannot
delete this paragraph, but you can format it as very small (1 point) or
Hidden.
