If you are creating a document that will be printed 2-sided, you would use
mirror margins for page setup.  What is the gutter option for?

The best I can figure, the gutter option is for people whose arithmetic is
shaky. <g> IMO, it's just as easy to add the "gutter" into the Inside
Margin.

Hi !
I believe the gutter is used when you want to protect
your margins in the document while filing or binding the
pages of the document. Whereas, the Mirror Margins are
used to get a view of how the page would look if printed
on either side of the page.
Hope the above is easy to understand, any comments or
suggestions are greatly appreciated.

regards,
Kiran

Obviously, the gutter is for binding, but I still don't see why it isn't
just as easy to add that amount into the Left or Inside margin. "Mirror
margins" has nothing to do with "getting a view"; it serves to alternate
margins so that instead of Left and Right, you have Inside and Outside.
Since the Inside margin can be set to include the gutter, using the gutter
is, as I say, primarily for the math-challenged in most cases.
