Hi,
I am using Microsoft Word XP and somehow I've managed to
change the settings so that my backspace button no longer
works when deleting big chunks of text?
To explain, if I type a few words and press 'backspace' it
will delete ok. If I select a line of text and
press 'delete' it will delete ok. However, if I select a
line of text and press 'backspace', nothing happens.
I have no idea how this has happened, I have reinstalled
Word to reset the settings to original and it hasn't
seemed to fix the problem.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks,
Steph.

On the Edit tab of Tools | Options, check the box for "Typing replaces
selection." Backspace is considered "typing."
