I am running Word 2000 on XP Professional. I have a large Word doc that is
about 16,000 kb. Sometimes when I save it, it locks up my computer so bad I
have to restart? What gives....

Robert,

Thanks for the quick reply. I read the info & I don't use those things. The
doc may be corrupt, but Word seems to have some problems. eg help locks up,
I retrieved an older version of the same doc at a time when I didn't have
this problem & I have the problem even with the old file? I removed &
reloaded Word, but that didn't do anything? I think it is a Word problem?

The URL name of the web page should not be used to dismiss the advice that
it contains. The problems you are experiencing are unquestionably caused by
external issues and this page demonstrates how to deal with them.
