When I format lines into numbered list, Word says it is repaging and hang.
I can never get thing done.  This also happen when chaning some format.
Sometimes when I save the document, all the bullets and numbered lists are
reset to normal - I have to undo the "automatic update".  I am using Word
2002.  Any idea what's wrong?  Thanks a lot.

Sounds like the document is corrupt. Copy the text, section by section to a
new document, and check when the new document becomes corrupt -- that will
tell you where the problem is located in the old.

Thanks a lot Jezebel,
Ya, something must have corrupted.  I still couldn't figure out why, but
managed to fix it though by recopying from the original (not corrupted)
documents.  It seems like the drawing and equation (embeded objects) were
corrupted.  I still sometimes get the drawing or equation corrupted, and I
just have to recopy from the good original to overwrite them and then it's
ok.  So much mistery in software application.
Regards, Hong
