punctuation in cross references

When a cross reference is created in full context for four
levels of an outline numbering style such as:
I.
  (a)
      i.
         A.
it does not show all the punctuation i.e. it displays as
I(a)1.A
where it should display as
I.(a)1.A.

Any ideas as to why and how to fix it?

Thanks

Hi Linda

When I use "full context", I get all the punctuation. Is it possible that
the full stop after "I" has been added manually?

Hope this helps.

Shauna, thanks for the reply.

All the punctuation is part of the numbering style.

Hi Linda

I've never seen the problem you describe. The only cause I can think of is
that Word has got its List templates in a mess (and this happens often, but
users never see it).

So, I would carefully re-create the numbering scheme. Make absolutely sure
that you always start the process by clicking in a Heading 1 paragraph, and
then modifying the numbering from there. Full steps are at

Hope this helps.
