I have Word 2000 and I would like to know if it has a line counting
facility.  I tried Help without success.

Thanks,
Emrys Davies.

Depends whether you want to count lines or number them. Word can do both.

1. To count lines: Tools | Word Count.

2. To number lines: File | Page Setup | Layout | Line Numbers...

FWIW, if I type "count lines" into the "Type a question for help" box in
Word 2003, these are the first four Help topics offered:

About line numbers
Count words
About word count
Add line numbers
