Does anyone know of a way to restrict a column's width the
way that you can restrict a row's height?  For example - I
want a column's width to be 2 inches and no more.

The user has lengthy words which force the columns to
change their width.

The area in question cannot be protected - must remain
edit'able.

Thx, in advance.

With the cursor in the table, choose Table Properties on the Table
menu. On the Table tab, click Options. Make sure that "Automatically
resize to fit contents" is cleared, and click OK. On the Column tab,
specify the desired width. When you are done, click OK. For more
information, please see:

Many thanks - that was TOO obvious!  I should have caught
that.
