Hello,

I was just wondering if there is a way to split a Word document window
verticaly?

I am fortunate to have a wide screen and I often need to go back and
forth in a large document and the horizontal split feature is good but
it would be best if I could see two location of the same document side
by side...

Is there a way to do this?

Funny, cause when you posted that I thought "wow, that's easy on a Mac...is
it not in windows?"

Word 2004, go to Window | New Window, which will give you two windows on the
same doc, scroll each one to where you want.  (vague suspicion the same
might work in word 2003)

By the way, if you are using a Mac you should be aware of the Mac-specific

In Word 2003, if I, in Document 1, use Window | New Window, I get another
Document 1. The menu bar in the two copies shows Document 1:1 and Document
1:2 respectively. Because I run Word maximized, both windows are maximized.
To tile them vertically, I have to use Window | Compare Side by Side with
<the other window>. Whichever window is selected when this command is used
will be the one on the left. They can be scrolled independently or
synchronously (there's a little toolbar with some buttons for this).

Note that the Compare Side by Side with... command can also be used to
compare two different documents.
