I am using Word 2002, Windows XP. How do I use track
changes without the format tracking? Under Options > Edit,
I have cleared the Keep Track of Formatting option. I know
I can selectively choose to view or not view format
tracking, but how do I eliminate it completely. I just
want to track changes to the document's content, not the
stylistic stuff.

On the Reviewing toolbar, on the Show menu, clear Formatting. Though I
suspect this is what you mean by "I know I can selectively choose to view or
not view format
tracking."
