All of a sudden I have a three inch column on the left side of my Word
documents when in Normal or Outline View. In the column are the words
"Normal" and "Normal (Web) and "HTML Preformatted"

I can't get rid of it. Any help?

Thanks, Ron

In Normal View, go into Tools | Options, View tab, and set the box for Style
Area Width to zero.

The style area shows you the style in use in each paragraph--it can be
extremely useful at times.
