Auto margin change after page 1

Is there any way to flow text into a document so that no matter where page 2
begins, the margins will change there for the remainder of the document.  The
idea is that if the writer adds or removes text from page 1, the margin
change will adjust to the new page break position automatically.  This would
operate analogously to different header/footer on first page.
