hi, i hope this is a question that hasn't been asked over
and over again: when i use the insert cross-reference
function (mainly for references to example sentences, i'm
a linguist), everything seems to work fine. but whatever
follows the cross-reference seems to disappear once i save
and reopen the file. for instance: "as we see in (8),
there is no answer to the problem" -- (8) is the cross-
reference, pointing to a prior example. now, when i make
changes, say i type in some new words "as we saw in (8)
(a) -- a suggestion by Dowty (1991) -- there is no answer
to the problem", the new stuff disappears, but not right
away, but at some later point. what am i doing wrong?
