My new computer came already loaded with Windows XP, Word,
etc.

The version of Word on the new computer does not have an
Americana font.  My Windows 98 version does and I have
several documents set up using this font.

How do I go about obtaining the Americana font to use on
my new computer?

technically, it's not your Word-version that "has" the font, but your OS
(Win 98).

First make sure there's a decent printer driver installed on your new
system: open, say, Excel and look in the fontlist there. If you see lots
more fonts there than in Word, you need to install a default printer
driver first.

Open the Font folder under Start | Setting | Control panel. Copy this
file to your new machine and drop it into your font folder there.

Good luck!
