When I turned on my computer this morning, I found that
all my auto text entries havd disappeared. Is there any
way to restore them without having to enter them again?

Most likely you've saved a document as Normal.dot. Try regenerating
Normal.dot and see what happens (see
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm for tips).
