MS Office Forum / Word / Long Documents / September 2003page imposition for making bound books
Hi - I'm looking for an adequate way to print many pages (4, 8, or 16) of a book on one sheet, arranged so that the sheet can be folded and cut into gatherings for a book. It is not a complicated thing to program, but neither Word nor any other word processing program does it properly (that I can find), nor do the big publishing programs: they rely on fancy plug-ins. I've been told there's a version of Word with a book-printing attachment or feature. What is it? Or are there any commercial or shareware plug-ins that do this? Reed Word 2003 has that ability, but I haven't tested it to see if it really works correctly. "Quite Imposing" would be a commercial tool for you to evaluate ... plantetPDF has a lot of good articles in that area, too.
