when i type SUM(19.99*10), i keep getting a 'Syntax

Thank You.

Shirley,

You are mixing apples and oranges.  Consider this "What is the sum of 19.99
times 10?"
Change your formula to { =(19.99*10)} where the { } are entered with
CTRL+F9.
