I highlite text and press "Delete" and the words "Delete
block? no (yes)" pop up at the bottom of my screen. I
have to press "y" to delete the text. How can I turn this
off so that it will just delete the text without asking
me?

When I go to Word.newusers it tells me "Newsgroup not
available."  Would you please email me the answer?

Tools | Options | General: Clear the check boxes for both items that refer

Suzanne,

Several of the Web Word Newsgroups have been unavailable
most of the day today. Customization, Doc Management, New
Users, etc. Not sure if they are working on it or what.
