Hi everyone,

I'd be grateful if anyone could explain the following to me:

I created a Word template (.dot file) with some new autotext entries.
I then created a set of Word documents (.doc files) based on the
intial template.  I then found the following strange problem:

When I open the Word documents based on the original template, I see
the associated autotext entries.

When anyone else opens the Word documents based on the original
template, they DON'T see the associated autotext entries.

Why?
Hypothesis #1: Autotext entries cannot be associated with templates
Hypothesis #2: Autotext entries can't be inherited by Word docs based
on a template
Hypothese #3: Autotext entries always belong to the Normal.dot
template

Please enlighten me!

many thanks,
Sherlock

Sherlock,

I noticed that Suzanne responded to this question a few
threads back. It's as she has explained there. You must
include the template with the document you are sending to
others. Autotext entries are not saved with a document,
but rather to the associated template.
