Using Track Changes in Normal View

Word XP -- When a document is created in normal view and
Track Changes is turned on you don't get the balloons.
The track changes looks like previous versions of word.
If you switch the view to print layout view you still
don't get balloons, looks the same.  There is an option
under Tools, Options, Track Changes to use balloons in
print layout and web layout.

But what if you created the document in normal view and
would like to see balloons in print layout view?

If you have balloons enabled, you should see them in Print Layout view but
not in Normal view. It shouldn't matter what view the document was "created"
in. Are you saying this isn't working for you?

Well, I'm baffled. It works for me. You do have the "Use balloons in Print
and Web Layout" box checked on the Track Changes tab of Tools | Options?
