I have a very long document (over 70 pages) and it is
broken up into many sections.  There are two pages, one in
section 1 (which is one page long) and one in Section 2
(which is 4 pages long) that have headers that take up
half the page, thereby making the regular text start
halfway down the page.  I have done everything I can think
of to get rid of this problem to no avail.  The help in
Word says to use your mouse to move the bar at the left up
to shrink the size, but all that does is make the header
take up the whole page, no matter how little or far I move
it.  I've tried changing the margins on the page & the
header.  I've tried making the header "same as previous"
and not.  Nothing is working.  Help!

Erin,

File>Page Setup>Layout>Alignment and be sure that "top" is
applied to the two offending sections.
