My apologies if this question has already been asked and
answered...please forward me the link if so.  I looked
through 13 pages or so of questions, but did not come
across this one.

Is it possible to use character (not paragraph) styles to
create a TOC?  The headings at levels 2-4 that I would
like in my TOC are part of a paragraph, not separated by a
hard return, so when I create the table of contents, the
entire paragraph text shows up, not just the text I
selected and "styled".  I tried using "character" styles
instead, but the TOC wouldn't recognize them.  The TOC
included only the items at the heading 1 level, which had
a paragraph style applied to them.

Any websites/suggestions you have would be great!  Thanks
in advance!!
