Tracked Changes

I am working with a document that was created by someone
else.  I made editiing changes and used the track changes
feature.  Now I am finished with the document and wanted
to turn the track changes off. The problem is, the track
changes are turned off according to the software (the TRK
is not highlighted on the bottom toolbar), but the changes
that were made still show up in red text in the document.
I cannot seem to get the changes to go away so that I can
print the document wihtout them.  The document was
converted between wordperfect and various versions of word
during formatting by various people, and that may have
caused the problem.  Any fixes possible without going
through the entire document and deleting all of the
tracked changes.

You must accept or reject all the changes.

In my version, I go to the toolbars and select the
pulldown for 'Final' instead of 'Final with Markups' and
that works.
Good luck

Hi Susan

Choosing "Final" hides, but does not delete, the tracked changes.

There are two separate things going on here: (a) does the document
contain tracked changes and (b) can you see any changes that have been
tracked?

Accepting (or rejecting) the changes gets rid of the tracked changes,
leaving the new (or old) text. Viewing your document using "Final" or
"Original" hides the changes, but they're still in the document for
anyone to see if they choose to do so.

There's more than one person who has been embarrassed by sending a
document to someone that was full of tracked changes.

Hope this helps.
