Formatting Changes and Tool Bars Moving

I'm using Word '97 and when I copy/ paste a scope into a document that was
originally merged, the formatting changes.  The document I'm pasting into is
set at 10, Times New Roman.  The document I'm copying from is set at 10,
Times New Roman also.  When I copy and paste it, it changes to 12, sometimes
changes the font and also moves my toolbars around.

This occurs each time I paste the document, which is a different originating
file each time, throughout the day, as these are contract scopes.

Any help is greatly appreciated in advance.
