I can't figure out how to automatically have a footer that reflects the
current document's Heading-n value. Can this be done? I use outlining a
lot to organize my documents, and it would be nice if when "chapters"
change, the name of the chapter at the bottom also automatically changes.
Any/all help/pointers most appreciated!!!

Jacques,
Have a look at Word's Help for a STYLEREF field. This
should be what you are looking for.

Fantastic! Thanks for that, Greg. It's exactly what I wanted.
In the Header/Footer toolbar, select "Format Page Number"
(third icon from the left). Check the "Include Chapter
Number" check box and the current level 1 heading value
will be included. You can have the separator from the
default hyphen.
