When I use a website as a footnote, I do a Copy of the website & then do a
Paste into my footnote.  In this way Word highlights it in blue & underlines
it.

If I actually type the website, URL then Word thinks I have misspelled &
tries to correct it causing a mess.

This may be helpful for anyone writing a manuscript where the references
come from the web.

You can change this behavior from the AutoFormat As You Type tab of Tools |
AutoCorrect ("Replace Internet and network paths with hyperlinks") and the
Spelling & Grammar tab of Tools | Options ("Ignore Internet and file
addresses").
