I made a template with a heading that has a automatic
numbering. The number is in font size 93 but the heading
text is in font size 12. This works fine until I try to
update the field in the Table Of Content. The font size of
the chapter number becomes 93 too while the chapter text
remains font size 12. How can I keep the size of the
chapter number also at 12 pts?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Luut

What version of Word do you have?

Hi Luut

I've tested this out in Word 2000, 2002 and 2003. In Word 2000, the ToC
retains the formatting of the paragraph numbers (as if they were direct
formatting). In Word 2002 and 2003, the ToC abandons the formatting of
the numbers and uses the ToC's format.

I can't think of a way to force Word 2000 to work like 2002 and 2003, or
the other way round. (And, I seem to remember a post to these newsgroups
recently where someone wanted it the other way round. I think he had
2002 and wanted 2000's behaviour!)

Hope this helps.
