I am working on a document and I want to start the header
and footer on the 3rd page of the document. It does not
work when I choose "from this point forward" in the page
setup. Is this possible to do...can anyone help?
Thank you

Hi Sharon

Headers and footers are a property of a section. So you need to break
your document into two sections. You need one section at the beginning
of the document, where you will have nothing in the header or footer.
And a second section that starts on page 3.

So, go to the beginning of page 3 and do Insert > Break > Next Page.
You'll now see on the status bar that you're in section 2. View > Header
and Footer. You'll now see that the box says "Header - Section 2". And,
it says "Same as Previous". That means that this section has the same
H&Fs as the previous section, which you don't want. So, on the Header
and Footer toolbar, click the Link to Previous button so that the "Same
as Previous" text goes away. Click the Switch between Header and Footer
button to do the same thing for the footer.

You've now got separate H&Fs for your separate sections. You can edit
them separately.

Hope this helps.
