using new dell, vista home premium, e521 desktop. using windows mail.
machine has microsoft works 8.5 without microsoft word.
i installed my word 2002 program. i then uninstalled "microsoft office SB
2003 trial version", which was factory installed by dell. i never activated
the 2003 trial program.
i do not have mail recipient listed in the file>send to menu. i do show
greyed outs "mail recipient (for review)", and "online meeting participant".
it shows "fax recipient" darkened.
is there a way to get mail recipient showing under send to, or should i just
try & uninstall/reinstall?
any help greatly appreciated.

using vista home premium and windows mail
send to "mail recipient" is now restored. i still do not have mail recipient
(as attachment).
i did not have send page by email & send link by email in my IE7. i wrote
into the internetexplorer general newsgroup, & they provided a fix, which
fixed my missing mail recipient in send to, under file, in the word 2002
program.
here's a part from the post "send page & send link by email greyed out":
Use these steps:
Click Start, Default Programs
Click "Set program access and computer defaults"
Click "Custom", select "Windows Mail"
Click OK.
This ought to fix the problem.

I've had exactly the same problem with Vista Business and Office XP (2002).
On loading Service Pack 3, all the email 'Send to' options became available
but the emails would still not find Windows Email. I had to create an email
account in Outlook and even that did not work very well.
I have used the Programme Defaults but after changing the default of
'non-MS' email to Windows Mail' it was immediately changed back on shutting
down.
I've virtually given up. It seems that these older Office programmes do not
recognise Windows Mail as an bona-fide mail programme.
Anyhow, thanks for your help everyone.
