Label prints address or return address, not both

Hi,

I am trying to print a single label on a blank Avery label (no preprinted
return address) in Word 2003. If I check "Use Return Address", only my
default return address prints, directly under the postal bar code. If I
uncheck "Use Return Address", the recipient's address prints under the bar
code, but not my return address.

I initially set the Labels dialog to use an Avery shipping label (5264).
Then tried creating a New Label specifying the same dimensions and to use my
return address. Neither setup worked.

When I print an envelope, my return address appears in the envelope dialog
box, and the envelope prints with the addressee's and my return address in
the normal positions. I'm stumped about why I can't get that to happen on a
label .

I've checked the Word online Help files, and followed the steps shown there,
but they do not solve the problem.

Can you help me? Thank you.

Labels are just tables with fixed cell dimensions.  If you click the New
Document button, you will get a document containing a table that represents
the sheet of labels (Select the Show gridlines item from the Tables menu if
you do not see the outline of the labels.  Now you can insert what ever you
want in the configuration that you want in a cell that represents the label.
If you want to create a whole sheet of the same thing, select and copy the
cell that you set up with the information, then select the whole table and
then paste.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. This seems like a "hammer-and-tongs" way to print labels. The
last time I had to print labels, I was using WordPerfect, and it was a snap.

I tried to set up a simple template in Word to use in the the future, but
have a problem showing the addressee's barcode. When I entered my return
address, the barcode changed, I assume from the addressee's to my postal
code.
