I am just wondering, is there a way to print pure black ink on an envelope in
Word 2007? I have the font color set to black (even went as far as checking
the RGB totals in the font color dialog and they are all set at 0) but
everytime I print envelopes they are being printed in a dark grey. It is a
few shade off from black. The biggetst problem is that I run out of color
ink, often, and since the envelopes are printing in a grey, they are actually
being printed as a combination of different colors, so when my color ink runs
out, I can't print envelopes. Is there some setting that I need to change in
order to make my envelopes print in full black instead of dark grey?

The address on an Envelope is formatted with the Envelope Address Style,
which, for some reason, some ink jet printers formulate as black by using
the three colours rather than the black ink cartridge. If you change the
Style of the envelope address to the Normal Style, it is likely that the
printer will then treat black as black.
The only thing is however that teh Envelope Address Style includes a frame
that positions the address on the envelope. By changing the style, this
frame is deleted and you will need to format the paragraph with an indent
and space before to get the address back into the normal postion.
If this overcomes your black problem, you could save the modified envelope
as a template and then use it whenever you want to create an envelope.
