I am not sure if I am posting this in the correct group so I will post the
same message in an Outlook group. I am using Office XP Pro (2002). I have a
file that is 2,219kb. When I send it as an attachment is increases to 2 mb
which makes it a large file to send. Why is this happening and is there a
way to correct it?

Thanks,

Hi,

2,219 kb is more than 2 mb.

You can probably reduce the size by compressing the file (...in WinXP,
you can directly create a zip folder without any additional software,
with right-click > Send to).

Its possible that this could be a virtural file size. You could try another
option of zipping the file first to reduce the size and then send it. Try
saving in different formats such as rich text or plain text which Word
supports, that is only if there are no images in the document.
