Outlook hangs; won't bring up Word

Using W2k and Office 2003, with Word 2003 as email
editor.  Just updated both programs on Friday.  User has a
roaming profile; server software (W2k server) was just
upgraded on Friday also.

Monday/Tuesday no problems.  This morning, when we click
reply to email, a dialog box comes up in Outlook, "Outlook
is opening Word as email editor."  However, the program
hangs and it's necessary to use Task Manager to close
it.

Tried a "compact/repair" on Outlook, but no improvement.
Can't find anything in Knowledge base.  Any suggestions?

Thanks, Amanda

See MKB Article 319796 - It appears to describe your
problem precisely.
I am experiencing a similar problem with Outlook XP
(2002) but I have not upgraded - it has just started
happening.  Good luck hope my reference helps
