I use word as my default email editor and every email I
send has an attachment which is the Internet Explorer
icon with the title 'header.htm' 1KB
How can I get rid of this please??

Don't think you can.  This contains the routing
information on who you are, where the e-mail came from,
how it was sent, etc.
Normally when you send from Outlook using that as your
editor, you would see this header under View|Options (on
an email you receive)
