We use single 4" x 6" peel & stick labels printed with our
logo but can't get word to print addresses to them.  The
custom labels dialog box won't let me use the actual label
size as the page size and forces me to use a predetermined
sheet of labels.  Is there a method to making the printer
work with this small page or label size?

Create a custom sized envelope instead of using the label
setting. You can either create a document template with a
text box placed where you want the address to go or use
the Tools>Envelopes and Labels setting and choose Custom
Size. It may reset the width slighly, but it will still
work. I usually just use the 6 3/4 sized envelope setting
and it works fine.
