Envelopes won't print on Epson R800

I recently purchased an Epson R800 printer and it won't print envelopes.  It
shows a message indicating the output tray is not set up properly.  I've
called Epson and after numerous failures, they suggested the problem must be
with my MS Word software. I've used the same Office software since 2003 on my
previous printer, an HP 5550, which worked fine.  I don't know if there's an
update or anything MS can do.  It seems like an Epson problem to me, but I
thought I'd check.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
