Every time I click on the "email" button in word, I get the error "Word could
not load the e-mail envelope. this could be caused by a network connection
problem or a problem with your office installation."

I looked this up on the KB but only found problems listed for 2000 and 2003,
i did what they suggested anyway but they did not work.
I have outlook open before i start word, i have even tried it with outlook
closed.

I have reinstalled office, and the problem is still there.

We had outlook 2003 installed on here (new PC joined to a SBS domain) but we
had to remove OL03 due to a mail murge issue. We had to do this on 8 PCs,
this is the only one that's giving us this problem. Can anyone please help me
out on this?
Thanks.

As you have found out, there are definite issues with Outlook 2003 and any
version of Word other than 2003.  It could be that there is some remnant of
Outlook 2003 on that computer.  If the other things haven't worked, maybe a
reformat and clean install will be the way to go.

I was hoping that we would not have to do a format and reinstall of
everything.. as there are new computers, (8 all together). We sold these PCs
and a new server to our customer and now they are very upset with us because
things arn't working as they should. I've thought about going back and doing
the system restore to the point befire We joined the domain and Outlook got
installed, But i'm not sure that would fix the problem. Even if it did, we'd
be eating alot of labor because "we should have know it wasn't going to
work."
We dind't think there would be this many problems with 2002 and 2003 working
together.. I guess this is MS's way of ensureing you upgrade everything and
not just what you use most.. WTG MS!!

Before giving up, try creating a new Outlook profile.  Profiles sometimes
don't come through version changes well and creating new ones can sometimes
work wonders.
