I am merging from  excel to word using mail merge but  one of the fields
comes back as 0 if the number has letters .
example  4120 comes in as 4120 but if I put as 4120C it comes in at  0
aslo i have one that is  .0075 and it comes in at 7.49999999997e-3 what  is
up with that. the field beside it is .023 and it works fine!!!
HELP!!!!

In this case your best bet is probably to change the way Word connects to
Excel - in Word, check Tools|Options|General|"Confirm conversions at open",
then go through through the process of connecting to Excel again and choose
the "DDE" option when it is offered.

You should see an extra dialog box after you have selected the .xls file.

(Everyone else does, as far as I know!)
