I am merging a Word letter with an Excel data source
file.  The file is located at C:\Data.  The first time I
do the merge it works great and I can save it.  The next
time I open this file I get this error message:
"This is a mail merge document.  Word cannot find the
data source D:\Data\letters.xls" but the data source is
there.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi Char,

did you make any selections in the "Recipients" dialog box
when you worked with the mail merge document the first
time? That will cause this problem.

You might want to try using a different connection method
to link to the data. See the Word 2002 section of my
website for instructions on how to do that.
