label merge with color shading

I have a name column and a division colum that I want to merge to make labels
for welcome packets. I have different division shaded with different
colors. Ex. Home Office would be shaded in Red, Sales would be green. I
want the colors to show up on my merged labels so I can put certain materials
in each packets pertaining to the color. When I merge my data which has the
shaded cells, it doesn't transfer over to the lables. Can I do that?

I doubt that you can use mailmerge to shade the whole label, but you should
be able to get a coloured spot to appear on the labels.
