Using Mail Merge to create labels from a SQL database was easy in Word 2000. The latest in Office XP is painful. My SQL database has over 20000 records. I was able to key on the 'date entered' field or on a logical Y/N field to select data. It seems this is no longer possible. Now I have to wait 20 minutes to get the drop down list to check boxes to retreive records. I don't know if there is a solution to your problem, but how are you making the connection to your data source in Word XP? Are you still using ODBC or are you using OLE DB?
