I have an Excel list that contains a numeric date field (I can clear the
formats from the field contents and I can see the underlying serial numbers).
The field is formatted using mmmm d, yyyy, which is the format I want to see
in the Word document.  Problem:  the Word document shows the contents of the
field as m/d/yyyy.  How do I keep the original Excel format?  (Using Excel
and Word 2002).  Thanks.

Use a date switch on the merge field - see
